Light Designer Stage Manager Props Master General Technician Artist
Happily Ever After @ The Brick, NYC
My latest review in The NY Times!
Upcoming events take me back to Florida Light Designing LEGALLY BLONDE this spring, and going to Bermuda with the N. Dawn installing my second ship for NCL.
I will also be taking my HIgh School Thespians to FL STATE with our One Act Play and I.E.'s this March!
I work in a variety of venues, from small OOB theaters with rep. plots, to designing and installing my designs into OB, OOB, Regional Theaters and High Schools. I have also had copious experience in designing on the road for Children's Theater productions giving the theater's my needs and colors I request if they have them available.
I enjoy working and teaching HS students who have the need to learn. They are like sponges, as I was once a sponge. I was lucky enough to grow up working and learning in a professional regional theater in TN. I spent 9 years performing, training, and being thrust into technical theater which has become an ongoing love affair since I was 15.
Ever being torn between music (my voice), and theater and the makings of, I ended up choosing the magic and mystery of live theater when I was young. My path could have gone two ways, one into Opera and Voice, the other into Theater- but especially Musical Theater. It was only by obsession that I got into technical theater. I was always standing in the "wings" at rehearsal, waiting, waiting very patiently for the SM, or Director to look to see who was available to move that set piece to the proper spike mark or strike some props. In tech week I was ever more present, waiting until I was called backstage to pull in a line or move in a set piece; all the while writing down my instruction like a blocking note. I continued to do this until I was offered an internship, which lead to company member. I love theater, I wanted nothing more than to learn as much as I could about every area in theater that was technical and creative. And that has lead me to where I am now.
